Pursuant to Article 10/A of the Capital Markets Law, transactions for the dematerialization of capital market instruments and their monitoring at the Central Registry Agency (CRA) are carried out by the CRA, banks and intermediary institutions. Pursuant to the dematerialization legislation in force, starting from 01.11.2006 for each investor

For real persons who are full taxpayers, with the Turkish Republic Identity Number obtained from the Central Population Administration System (MERNIS)

Tax Identification Number (VKN) obtained from the Ministry of Finance for legal entities and limited taxpayers

information must be submitted to CRA in a complete and accurate manner.

The Central Registry Agency inquires the MERNIS information submitted by the intermediary institutions for real persons who are full taxpayers and the VKN information submitted for limited taxpayers and legal entities through the Central Population Administration System and the Ministry of Finance.

Investors who have such inconsistencies and deficiencies in their accounts at banks and brokerage houses where they conduct capital market transactions are at risk of not being able to make transactions in stocks, corporate bonds, mutual funds and (after the date of registration, Government Debt Securities).

In order for our investors to be able to make transactions, it is of utmost importance that they check that the Turkish Republic Identity Number for real persons who are full taxpayers and the tax number for legal entities and limited taxpayers that they have submitted to the bank and intermediary institution where their accounts are located are compatible with the information they will obtain from the websites http://tckimlik.nvi.gov.tr and www.gelirler.gov.tr, and in case of discrepancies, they should ensure that this deficiency / inconsistency is corrected before the institution where the incorrect information is located (the population administration, tax office or intermediary institution where the account is located).
